Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Art Gallery Public Programs Officer with Greater Taree City Council. The position is for 15 hours per week including weekend work. The position is offered until 30 June 2011, but may continue after that period subject to funding.
The Art Gallery is looking for a self motivated and enthusiastic Public Programs Officer who will organise, coordinate, promote and supervise the Gallery’s public programs in consultation with the Art Gallery Director.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the values and behaviours of Council, enjoy working in a team environment, promote a positive and professional image of Council and provide customers with a high quality service.
Essential Criteria:
* Degree or equivalent in an arts or education related field or substantial experience in gallery public programs delivery
* Availability to work weekends
* Computer competent in Word and Internet
* Experience in arts and education
* Effective communication skills (oral and written).
* Empathy and experience in working with young people
* Ability to work in a team
* Knowledge of Indigenous culture
* Demonstrated ability to be self motivated and to perform daily duties with minimal supervision.
* Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
